Buddhism has enlightened the world by its teachings. To celebrate 2600 years of the dawn of Buddhism, a series of Ashta Seela observation programs were organized by the national schools of the country.

In connection with this the National Event of schools for celebrating 2600 years of Buddhism was held today (13/05/2011) at Ananda College with the participation of his Excellency the President Mr. Mahinda Rajapakshe and the Minister of Education Mr. Bandula Gunawardena.

This event was made a great success with the participation of Anandians throughout the school  as well as the teachers.

This invaluable opportunity was presented to Anandians by the efforts of the Principal Mr. L. M. D. Dharmasena, the Organizing committee and the Buddhist society.
